Yay! We are so excited. We will see you this weekend.
I guess I can take my boat out of the garage. No wat was I going to drive from Berryessa Highlands to the free launch or Pleasure Cove. Thanks.
Awesome,
I will pull the boat up to the Berryessa Highlands this weekend and launch again at Steele Park. I can not wait to have wet slips back in Steele Park ( Lupine Resorts) like the last 35 years. Is there a Highlands meeting with Pensus tomorrow night to discuss how the Highlands will be intergrated into the new Lupine Resort plans. Are they meeting at the Capell Valley Fire House??? Please let us know?
Yes, there is a meeting with Pensus for Highland residents at tonight (Thursday) 7:00 at the firehouse
Fantastic news! Thank you for opening up the launch so quickly.
Also, I keep hearing about resort planning and feedback meetings however I can’t seem to find any details and I have not received an email. Did I miss something? Can you post on here the details for those interested?
Anyone know what the launch fees are going to be when these facilities open?

Hello Pensus Group especially Georgi Ffinch and Janett Grude,
I wanted to thank you and all you efforts to open up Steele Park (Lupine Resorts) for Memorial Weekend(Saturday May 29, 2010) After being a homeowner in the Berryessa Highlands (living in the San Francisco Bay Area) and a wetslip owner for over 35 years, it was great having access to Steele Park again. We could not wait for it to open. Today, I bought a launch pass for 2010 to start launching my boat that I have been towing around the Bay Area since Steele Park closed last year. I am anxious for you to install the wet slips that you mentioned in previous conversations. I know the Pensus group had a short amount of time to prepare the opening of Steele Park, but I would like to make one recommendation for improvement. The piers on the launch ramp are too short to launch a boat safely. Since my boat is 19 feet, we had to get in the water to off load and load the boat on the trailor. In fact when I came through the gate at 10:00 am on opening day, I talked to three boat owners that I know who were leaving before they launched because they could not launch their boat safely and had to ask for a refund. You need to add another 10-15 feet to the docks to make it safe for all of us to launch. I have grown up around the lake and know a lot of friends throughout the Lake Berryessa community and the San Franciso Bay Area and want to remind the Pensus Group that throughout the year the locals will always be there to add support/revenue to the resorts. Many of us have been on this lake for over 40 years and invite a lot of friends and family up to the Lake weekly.(Extra income for Steele Park). In addition we are still looking forward to resolving the problem with the Berryessa Highlands sewer/water system connected to Steele Park. Please keep in mind that it might be very beneficial for a group of locals/Berryessa Highlands residents to help work with you and provide valuable input on future plans of Steele Park.
Feel free to call me with any questions or comments.

The launch fees will be $20 (plus tax) for a launch and retrieval. There is also a Season Launch Pass available for $225 (plus tax). It is good through 12/31/2010 and will be honored at both Chaparral Cove and Lupine Shores (Putah Creek and Steele Park)
Thank you
We did do a meeting for the Berryessa Highlands residents on the Thursday preceding Memorial Day Weekend. But we will be planning meet and greet meetings with all the residents of the area in the coming weeks. We have not set the next one up but will be doing so soon and will post the information on this site.
Thank you
Thanks for all the updates. Why is it that things are not posted on time as they happen. It seems that other postings fill in and appear after the fact. (Several Days/ a week) Also the comments I posted on May 26th are reposted now (over a week later) with a date two days later than my original posting under a different person named Steve.
????
A few observations regarding our stay at Putah Creek Memorial weekend:
-The speed of vehicles driving around the park needs to be slowed down. Not only the visitors but the security staff driving way too fast especially from the gate towards the launch ramp, stirring up the dust and creating an un-safe situation.
-5 mile an hour buoys need to be added to the water around the launch ramp north along the shore line towards the second bridge. Since there were no docks we ended up anchoring our boat in the water just north of the launch ramp overnight only to have fools pulling tubers etc. within feet of our boat which was about 10 feet off the shore line.
-People more familiar with what size RV will fit into which spots. We have a fairly large 37 foot class A and the spot we were assigned to for the weekend even if we could fit in it we couldn’t even get to because of the low tree branches.
All in all we had a very nice time but you definitely need bigger docks for the launch ramp and some courtesy docks for overnight boat parking would help greatly.
Michael,
We are getting a lot of spam posts on this site so I have to sort through all the posts and approve the ones that are legitimately about Lake Berryessa. That is why there is sometimes a bit of a lag.
When will the RV sites open ??
Georgi,
Thanks for the update, we do appreciate your response and all your hard work in opening up Steele Park resort. We will be launching tomorrow again and provide you with any feed back that we hear from our friends and locals. The Berryessa Highlands residents are still wondering if there will be an in and out pass for day-use. I know many people who have requested wet slips for Steele Park. Are these in the works????? Please let us know.
Thank you,
Michael Spranger
I am also interested in an annual pass for day use. I like to fish from the banks but do not want to park my car outside the park and walk in carrying chair, tackle, cooler etc. also I know some families without boats and small children also do not want to walk in and would like to use the park to let the kids play and swim a couple of times a week. Highland residents are very interested in this.
Hi Georgi, I’m also asking when will we get a pass for day use. before I could go in and out has many times as I wanted and fish off the bank. again Thank You for the fast job to open the boat ramp. Ramona
Hello everybody!!
I’m very anxious to RV at Steel Park (lupine) again. I’ve sorely missed the great times with family and friends while using this beautiful lake.
The ski’s and boat are tuned and ready for the year.
Had a great time at Markely renting a cabin but….
Anybody know if we will get a chance to Rv during the 4th of July weekend?
Don’t need water, electric or sewage, RV’s are great!!
We currently have RV sites available at Chaparral Cove (Putah Creek) and will have RV sites available at Lupine Shores (Steele Park) starting 4th of July weekend. If you would like to make a reservation please do so using the Reservations icon on the home page of our website.
Thank you,
Ramona,
Apologies for not responding sooner. We are in the process of getting the Season Day Use pass approved through Reclamation. It should be available very shortly and will be for sale at the entry gate to Lupine Shores. It will most likely be $20.
Thank you
Thank you Pensus group for bringing our lake back to life. I look forward to the Lake economy recovering from years of depressive beauracracy and seeing the lake die for years. Watching the boats pass by my home going to (Steele Park) Lupine Shores is a positive outlook for the future. Now I can take my family and water toys to the water again. We look forward to new resturants, stores and food nearby. Best of luck with all the Pensus Group endevors planned. The development will certainly help the surrounding property values.
Thank You!!
I would also like to strongly suggest you lengthen the launch ramps. I have a 22foot boat, and last weekend with strong winds blowing, it was nearly impossible, to launch the boat and safely secure it to the dock for the few minutes it would take to get my family aboard. I watched several others having the same problems. Please see if you can resolve and lengthen the launch docks as soon as possible, so we can continue to use your facilities this summer. Thanks
Jeffrey,
I agree 100% about lengthen the launch ramps. I have a 23 foot boat and have to swim out to get on to it safely. I have launched 6 times and many other surrounding boaters are also having this problem. I hope the Pensus group / BOR fixes it soon. It is becoming a safety hazard and an accidental waiting to happen.
today my husband went to the gate at Lupine Shores to get our season day pass and they said you have to leave your car outside on the street and walk in so we did not get a pass. can you let us know is this the way it will work. the thought of carrying in my chair, cooler, fishing pool, etc. not good for me. thanks in advance.
Ramona,
I agree that buying a season day pass and then having to park your car outside and walking into the resort is not right. This is not the same pass we have had for years as a Highlands resident into Steele Park. I thought we were going to get a pass where we could drive into the resort and spend the day with family, friends or just spending time relaxing. Things have changed.
On another issue. I was up again the weekend June 27th – 29th and I wanted to thank the Pensus group for pushing out the courtesy docks on the launch ramp. It helped but they are still too short to launch and load the boat safely on the trailer. I saw a boat trying to get close to the courtesy docks (since they are too shallow) to let off a boater and they fell between the dock and the boat. We are just waiting for a major accident to happen. Please lengthen the docks for our safety and so nobody sues the Pensus group.
Thanks

Apologies for the miscommunication you may park your car on site.
Thanks Georgi that is great news for all of us.
Thank You Georgi yes this is good news for us. Pensus is doing a great job for the 4th of July campers. and thank you for your fast and hard work to please all of us that love to come to Lupine Shores (steele park).
It would also do everyone a big favor if bumpers were installed on the docks. The ends being bare wood are dinging the finish of my boat and I am sure a lot of other boats. Considering the $20 charge for launching there should be sufficient funds to cover some basic protection on the docks. I also second the ideas of lengthening the docks as they are too short to dock a boat and try to slip a trailer in front of it.
Hello,
We are coming up on Sept 3 with a 22 foot boat. Are there launching facilities at Lupine Shore yet large enough to handle a large RV launching a boat (turn around room, etc.?
Also, are there overnight pier facilities, or does the boat have to be anchored off shore.
Thanks,
Mike
Yes there are launching facilities large enough to handle a large RV. There are no overnight slips but you will be able to anchor your boat to the shoreline close to your campsite. Enjoy your stay!
